Watching and Waiting

Genesis 24:63-67a

"And Isaac went out to meditate in the field at the eventide: and he lifted up his eyes, and saw, and, behold, the camels were coming. And Rebekah lifted up her eyes, and when she saw Isaac, she lighted off the camel. For she had said unto the servant, What man is this that walketh in the field to meet us? And the servant had said, It is my master: therefore she took a vail, and covered herself. And the servant told Isaac all things that he had done. And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife; and he loved her."

What a beautiful love story the Bible tells us of Isaac and Rebekah!

Isaac reminds me of a type of Christ. He is found meditating in the field, waiting and looking for his coming bride! Jesus is longing for the day we his bride will be coming home to Him! Rebekah reminds me of a type of the church or the bride. When we, the bride see Jesus waiting for us, we will be so excited and filled with such joy! Just as Rebekah showed respect to her groom by covering herself with her veil. I believe we will bow before Jesus with reverence to Him! We will honor Him for all He has done for us, just as Isaac took Rebekah to be his wife and the word said he loved her. So Jesus will take us home with Him and He will love us as His Bride.

Isaiah 62:5b "and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee!"

Jeremiah 31:3b "Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee."

Sister let us be watching and waiting with great expectation and joy, for our Groom, Jesus's return!
