Interrupted plans

Published March 15th, 2019 by Ccwestside

I can remember sitting on my bed a few weeks before my High School graduation dreaming about all the plans that I had for my life, a perfect picture in my mind of how I thought my life should be.

Then God interrupted.

His plans were not my plans. Even though I thought that my plans were best, God had already painted my picture.

“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.”(Isaiah 55:8-9)

God’s divine interruptions are plans not to hinder us but to give us something even greater. I’m sure Ruth and Naomi were not expected to loose their husbands and sons and be left empty handed. The heart break and uncertainty they must have felt.

God interrupted because he knew that his plans were far greater than anything they could fathom. God does not take something away from us to leave us destitute. He has already replaced it with something greater!

That doesn’t mean that we won’t face pain or unbelief during these times, but how we choose to answer God’s love for us, shapes our future that God so desperately wants to bless us with.

I know in my life I fall short of trusting God to see me through. I look back and can see where God was nudging and I didn’t answer. So, He sent a welcomed interruption. Maybe not so welcome at the time, but an interruption that was for the better.

Are you willing to let God interrupt your plan for your life and let God? Will you still love and follow God when things may not go the way you planned?

Pray and seek the Lord, ask for direction and confirmation in your life. Trust that your Father who loves you and already knows his plans for you, and will show you if you just let him.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
