He brought me to the banqueting house, and His Banner over me was Love.  Song of Solomon 2:4

For the last several weeks the Lord keeps ministering to me that His Banner over me is Love. No matter if I’m in the dark caverns of despair or basking in blessings His Banner over me is Love!  It's really glorious to know that my Heavenly Father has a Banner of Love over me! This Banner doesn’t just read ‘Love' - which is His Agape Love but it performs that unconditional Love for me 24/7 no matter what life brings me. That speaks volumes to my heart.  It brings me comfort, knowing my God is for me, that He’s with me, and that He’s covering me, taking me right through to the finish line. He never gives up on me and that Banner over me never waivers even when I do. Oh like Paul I ask myself why do I do the things I don’t want to do… at times I fail miserably yet Jesus remains the same and He loves me the same always. Both are mind-blowing to me. Why would a perfect God love such an imperfect me so perfectly?  

Jesus is Love and He loves us perfectly. Every day His Love is immeasurable and consistent. His Love doesn’t change depending on His mood or our conduct.  Your behavior can’t change His Love for you.  Your rebellion can’t chase Him away.  Nothing can separate you from the Love of God Romans 8 tells us.  He holds that Banner high and with full assurance over you, proclaiming you as His very own.  Individually He loves you as His beloved child! Over each of you He has a Banner of Love leading you to that banquet table where we will feast with Him for all eternity! For me that is a remarkable, incomprehensible truth!

Us humans, if not being ruled by the Holy Spirit, are all over the place with our emotions and feeling. So it’s hard for us to grasp the depth of God's Love for us.  We must not allow life’s circumstances to dictate our thoughts but to keep our minds fixed on the Love of God and His Word.  Psalm 119:17 says “How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God; how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand” That verse gets me excited to know my Heavenly Father has so many sweet, treasured thoughts of me as a prized-possession, which each of us are as He gave His only Beloved Son Jesus for our redemption. The world beats us up making us feel so invaluable at times but oh how Jesus loves me! 

I’m so humbled by God’s fierce Love for me… Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God! I pray today you can take comfort in knowing how much Jesus Loves you, that He’s always there with you, and that He will confidently complete that good work He started in you as He is always triumphant!  His Banner of Love always remains strong and unmovable over us so that we can walk in victory & continually shine for His Glory!
